The tours are designed for people who love cycling and want to enjoy cycling somewhere new and challenge themselves. There are options for all types of riders and using the ride grading you should be able to select one for you
For the safety of the riders and all other users of the roads it is essential that a certain level of discipline and etiquette is observed at all times. Riders will mostly ride 2 abreast but will need to adjust to single file to let cars past on narrow roads.
We will send you a copy of our Ride Safety Guidelines in advance of the ride/tour. In addition, at the opening briefing there will be clear instructions and guidance on group riding so that your safety, and that of other road users, is maintained at all times.
Apart from on certain hills, the group will always ride together (no one will get left behind) but on longer hills each person can ride at their own pace with a re-grouping at the top.
Your ride leader will give clear instruction where to re-group. Typically there will 2 groups, a faster and slower group so that riders can be with others of a similar pace.

Yorkshire Velo Tours do not provide any insurance for clients. We recommend you have individual third party liability insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure you and your bike are adequately insured.
There are now many pro cyclists who live in the area who train in Yorkshire. We often see the Brownlee brothers and Scott Thwaites out on the road, who always give you a cheery greeting and smile. Meet them at one of the café stops and you might even get a selfie!
