Can I hire a bike?

Yes, cycle hire can be arranged through a local supplier. The following bike types are available:
Road bikes (typically Trek Emonda Carbon)
Hybrid (typically Trek Dual Force)
E-bikes
Touring cycles

How do I get there?

By car: 16 miles from Leeds (30 minutes’ drive non-rush hour)

By rail: 27 mins from Leeds

By air: Leeds Bradford Airport is 8 miles away. We can arrange taxi pickup, including bike box

Can non-riding partners be accommodated?

Absolutely. It's possible to easily accommodate any non-riding partners. There is a wealth of things to do and places to visit, including York, Harrogate, market towns of Skipton and Otley and also the thriving city of Leeds with its award winning Trinity Centre and John Lewis megastore. Being located in Ilkley, a vast choice of scenic walks are also on your doorstep

What weather are we likely to encounter?

The weather can be changeable, so please bring suitable clothing options.

Are there any age limits?

This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 16 (under 18’s must be accompanied by a riding parent/guardian). There is no upper age limit only the general requirement of having a suitable level of fitness to be able to cope with the routes.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yorkshire Velo Tours does not provide any insurance for clients.

We recommend you have individual third party liability insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure you and your bike are adequately insured.

Will we see any famous cyclists out on the road?

There are now many pro cyclists who live in the area who train in Yorkshire. You might catch sight of superstars Lizzie Deignan or Tom Pidcock out on the road, who both come from the local town of Otley, so give them a wave! Meet them at one of the café stops and you might even get a selfie!

Price & Payment Conditions

We normally require a 20% deposit per person to secure a booking. You must pay the balance at least 1 month prior to the start of your visit. If you fail to pay for your tour in full 1 month prior to the tour start, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and your deposit will be forfeited.

Should you wish to cancel your booking, you must give us notice by emailing contact@yorkshirevelotours.com. Once we receive your cancellation notice we will follow up with an email confirming your cancellation. Your cancellation will take effect from the date that you receive our email confirming your cancellation.

No refunds are made for meals, services, or lodging paid for but not used.

In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel the tour, we will fully refund any monies paid to Yorkshire Velo Tours.
