April, May or June 2019
Your own exclusive warm up cycling day to prepare you for the White Rose Classic 2018
If you are considering entering the White Rose Classic as a team we have partnered up with Ilkley Cycling Club to offer the option of a warm up day in April, May or June ahead of the event on 24th June. We can also process your team’s entry into the White Rose Classic event.
The objective of the day is to introduce you to riding in the Yorkshire Dales with full support of experienced local ride leaders and a team mechanic. We will tailor a route specifically to suit the ability of riders, including beginners. We can arrange bike hire for those who might not (yet!) possess a road bike.
- cycling is a good team-building platform, and something that can be all-inclusive, even for people who may think of themselves as non-cyclists.
- make it a success by making sure that everyone has goals and can achieve them by getting properly prepared
- you can help the team build realistic goals and to be well prepared
- help you build and achieve charity fundraising goals
We ran a cycling day for the Welcome to Yorkshire team in 2017 and the riders went on to successfully complete the White Rose Classic, with a smile on their faces!
"Great corporate trip out with Charles and the excellent Yorkshire Velo Tours team. The organisation was superb, the riding was tough but enjoyable and our team all had a great day out exploring Yorkshire by bike."
Tom Ashurst, Welcome to Yorkshire
The start/finish is the Wheatley Arms in Ilkley with excellent road, train and air links.
Option of a pre-ride breakfast in the conference room with options to use the audio visual facilities for company presentation / welcome.
Each rider will be given a drink and nutrition pack comprising a Yorkshire Velo Tours water bottle, energy gels, flapjack and a banana.
We have a wide range of tried and tested routes and we will choose the most appropriate for your riders.
Often it works best to have two options: a shorter less strenuous route for those newer to cycling and a more challenging route for the regular cyclists.
Each group of riders will be led by an experienced local ride leader. Our team mechanic will also drive a support vehicle to accompany the riders, so it will feel a bit like riding in a team on the Tour de France! There will be regular stops and water and food will be available to sustain the riders on route. If anyone is really struggling with the ride, there is space for people and bikes in the support vehicle, so they can always hop onboard.
Please contact us to discuss your requirements, we can also deal with entry for your team into the White Rose Classic.
